New Dinosaur Discovered

Fossils found in China last month belong to a new species of dinosaur which lived 125 million years ago.

Archaeologists made the discovery in northeast China and believe the dinosaurs were trapped when a volcano erupted and covered them with ash. They have been named Changmian which means ‘eternal sleep’ in Chinese.

Scientists believe that the dinosaur, whose skeleton measured over a metre long, dug burrows like rabbits do today. It had a short, strong neck and arms and the top of its snout was shaped like a shovel.
