News Bites Media - Magazine for primary school students

ISSUE NO. 21, JUNE 2021

Ahoy, News Biters!

Welcome to the June issue of News Bites – and what an issue we have for you!

As many of you will know, World Ocean Day falls on June 8 every year, and this is something we are very passionate about here at NB. This day calls on all people, young and old, to celebrate  and honour our precious and awesome oceans.

World Oceans Day 2021 invites us to learn more about the life that can be found beneath the waves and the vital role it plays in Mother Nature’s master plan.

One group of heroes that deserves our utmost respect and gratitude is plankton. Heroes? Take it from me – float on over to pages 11-13 and you’ll understand why.

If you have been following our 'A Better World' series over the past year and a half, this month's recap of the United Nations' SDGs is for you. Having covered all 17 goals, we think now is a good time to revise. This month we’re looking back on the first nine. Next month, we’ll complete the recap by looking at the remaining eight. How many can you remember?

As with every issue of News Bites, we’d like to think we’ve included something for all interests. So whether wacky and weird news is your thing, or history your passion, sit  back and enjoy the newspaper written just for you.

As always, if you have book reviews, poems or stories  you’d like to share with fellow readers, you can email them to hello@newsbitesmedia.com or drop us a comment on www.newsbitesmedia.com.

See you in July for the Games (we hope!)
