News Bites Media - Magazine for primary school students

ISSUE NO. 20, MAY 2021

Hello, NB readers!

Welcome, once again, to another issue of your monthly newspaper, News Bites.

Last month we set sail on Ferdinand Magellan’s epic voyage of 500 years ago and paid homage to Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s 1961 flight into space.

Both adventures, although very different to each other and some 440 years apart, changed the course of  history. Hopefully these stories of exploration and discovery showed that with courage and determination amazing things are possible.

In this month’s feature, we’re staying with ships as we take a closer look at the accident on the Suez Canal in late March when the giant Ever Given tanker got stuck in sand and ended up creating a traffc  jam on water the likes of which were never seen before.

Don’t worry if ships are not your thing. Between wacky, weird and wonderful news  for you to laugh at and puzzles, crosswords and facts for you to enjoy, we’d like to think there’s something in here for everyone.

Of course, if you have book reviews, poems or stories you’d like to share with fellow-News Bites readers, you can email them to hello@newsbitesmedia.com or drop us a comment on the website.

See you in June for a walk on the wild and wacky side of the Olympics!
