Spot the Intruder: Gulper Eel

The gulper eel's stomach expands to allow it to hold large prey.
The gulper eel is sometimes called the pelican eel or the umbrella-mouth eel.

The gulper eel makes a hissing sound like a rattlesnake.
The gulper eel can swim at very fast speeds.
The gulper eel can measure up to 12 metres in length.
The gulper eel lives in the oceans at depths of between 150 metres and 1.8 kilometres.
The gulper eel, like many creatures that live in deep ocean waters, use chemicals in their bodies to produce light, called bioluminescence.
