In 2020, Captain Sir Tom Moore set a record for raising the most money for a charity walk when he raised more than €36 million to help the UK’s health service during the COVID pandemic. Sir Tom, aged 100, set out to walk 100 laps of his 25-metre garden, but ended up doing much more. Sadly, he died on February 2, 2021, after contracting Covid-19.
